X-Plus has announced the following new Toho Kaiju figures for 2015:

RIC Boy Light Up Toho 30cm Gigan 1972!!

This is a reissue of the previously released 30cm Gigan 1972 from way back in January 2010!! This release will come with a light up visor for Gigan. The RIC Boy 25cm Gigan featured a light up visor as well. X-Plus broke this news at about 2:45 AM Easter US time via their Twitter feed!

The RIC Boy site is down right now to a server issue. No release date or pricing yet for the new 30cm Gigan. The RIC Boy Twitter feed appears to reporting that this will be limited to 300 pieces. This is not confirmed at the moment but I will verify this info on this post once the info has been verified via X-Plus!

In mid December, X-Plus teased on Twitter that they would announce new Toho related figures on Dec. 24, 2014! From the Japanese translation, it appeared that the tease included a light up gimmick feature for whatever figure was going to be announced. X-Plus has never teased collectors like this before and it has been a while since X-Plus has really teased anything. X-Plus used to tease collectors with dark silhouette pictures of the Kaiju that was up next for release, followed by an unpainted prototype and later by a fully painted and sculpted figure. In late 2013 and through 2014, X-Plus was busy producing reissued 30cm figures for Diamond Distributors which were released in the United States. The Diamond Distributors contract expires Dec. 31, 2014. That tells me that now that with the contract with Diamond Distributors ending, no more Diamond reissues will be coming. X-Plus may just get back to brand new releases and sculpts of Kaiju that have not been previously released in either the Toho Large Monster Series or the Toho 30cm Series. X-Plus has been consistent with Ultraman Kaiju and Gamera Kaiju through 2014 but Godzilla and other Toho characters have taken a back seat, albeit only a few big releases in 2014 (Gigantic Series GMK and Burning Godzilla and the 25cm King Ghidorah).

This past fall, X-Plus revealed the unpainted prototype of their 30cm Godzilla 2014. That figure is slated to be released sometime in 2015. Up until this point, that was the only X-Plus release for 2015.

In the wee hours of December 24th, the RIC Boy site was shut down for what appeared to be site updates. Members from the X-Plus group on Facebook kept a keen eye on the site to catch the update as soon as it appeared. X-Plus teased on their Twitter account the following message at 2:09 AM Easter US Time:

“[Announcement] has become now, reach a boy Rid December, X-Plus teased on Twitter that they would announce new Toho related figures on Dec. 24, 2014!”

From previous teases, it appeared that the tease included a light up gimmick feature for whatever figure was going to be announced. As we now know, it is a 30cm Gigan with a light up feature! Please take note, at the time of this writing, the RIC Boy site is down to a server issue. This was confirmed via their Twitter account. Once the site is back up and running, the site should be updated with the addition of the RIC 30cm Gigan and it should be available for preorder on the 24th or 25th of December!

Stay tuned for more details as they become available!

FRESH!
