Anime Boston to host Haruo Nakajima and Akira Takarada!!!

Anime Boston, an anime convention being held April 3-5, 2015 in Boston, Ma. announced their Guests of Honor will be Haruo Nakajima and Akira Takarada!!

Haruo Nakajima was the suit actor in the original 1954 Kaiju film “Gojira”, portraying the titular monster Godzilla! Nakajima went on to portray Godzilla in many sequels in the Godzilla franchise in through the 60’s and early 70’s. This will be Nakajima’s second appearance on the East Coast in the past seven months, his last being at Chiller Theater in Parsippany, New Jersey last October along with fellow Godzilla suit actors, Kenapachiro Satsuma and Tsutomu Kitagawa. Joining Nakajima at Anime Boston is the well known Toho actor Akira Takarada! Akira Takarada was also featured in the original Godzilla film in 1954 and was featured in many sequels in the Godzilla franchise throughout the Kaiju’s 60 years of film.

This is great news for Godzilla fans, especially those on the East Coast! I recently was blessed with the opportunity to meet Nakajima last October at Chiller and I am looking forward to spoiling myself again come Anime Boston. Akira Takarada has been another Toho veteran that I have been clamoring to meet for a long time and now I can check this meet and greet off the list!

Me and Haruo Nakajima in October 2014!

Godzilla fan’s have been campaigning for Anime Boston to bring REAL Kaiju actors and genre guests to the convention this year.  The big reason for this push is because the theme of Anime Boston 2015 is “Mecha Vs Kaiju”. How could you NOT have Kaiju related guests at this event! This is exciting news! I am FRESHLY excited! Beyond excited! Check the Anime Boston website at the link below for more information.
