S.H. Monster Arts Godzilla 1954 new pics!

Some new pictures of the S.H. Monster Arts Godzilla 1954 popped up from a Japanese toy magazine earlier this week! IMG_7947

Release date for the figure slated for July, right around the same time Shin-Gojira releases in Japan on July 29, 2016. Godzilla 1954 (ShodaiGoji) is sculpted by master sculptor Yuji Sakai. According to this magazine print, the price point at the moment is 8,424円 which translates to $75.26 US dollars. Not that bad if you ask me. My early impressions of this figure are looking great. Can’t wait to get it. FRESH~

  1. Hello Richard! My son Sean is a big fan of yours. We got a chance to meet you and join your panel discussion in Chicago at G-Fest last summer. We both enjoyed meeting you and hope to see you again this year. Sean was wondering if you had visited the Toho museum on your last visit to Japan. If you could let us know if you had and if you enjoyed it. This would really be of great interest to him as he looks up to you as a super Godzilla fan. Thanks so much and please keep up the fresh work.

    • Hi Ian! I look forward to seeing you and Sean again this coming G-FEST! Make sure you guys come say hi. I will be doing another Fresh Vinyl Live! panel this year as well! When we were in Japan, we went to Toho Studios but we were only outside the complex where the Godzilla statue was. I am not sure if there is a museum really. I could be wrong. But…we did how ever go around Tokyo to spot some locations that were depicted in some Godzilla films. We went to Ginza which is where Godzilla destroyed the clock tower in 1954 and then we strolled down the street where Godzilla marched past the Toho corporate hq and then picked up a train and dropped in 1984. We had a lot of fun. I really want to go back again.
